I am writing my About description while procrastinating from doing things I should be doing, which in general is apropos. I currently live in Santa Cruz, California (but am a Texas transplant) and work as an after-school English teacher in the Silicon Valley, where all my students have nicer phones than I do. I am a lapsed perfectionist who is not comfortable referring to myself with titles like "documentary photographer," "singer," or "poet," despite the fact that I do all these things and am passionate about them. For some reason, I am comfortable calling myself a teacher, because I have realized how much learning is an integral part of good teaching. And I like doing something where I can be in the process and don't feel pressured to be the ultimate. But that won't keep me from the search.
