Last night, a principal emailed me about a job teaching English and Photography at a charter high school. I was so excited that I wrote back as soon as I got it this morning and am now reconsidering my decision to do so, as I haven't heard from her again. I hate that I'm now stressing about my (lack of) decision to reply with a formal cover letter. I'd only just gotten my first list of private school referrals a few hours earlier. I have no idea how many applicants these schools have for any one position, especially this late in the game, with most schools' academic years starting in a month or so. My placement contact told me yesterday to not get my hopes up for this year, though my timing is perfect for Fall 2013. Sigh. I'd be lying if I told you I haven't already looked at apartments on craigslist for that school and a couple of others. It's hard not to get ahead of myself when I realize how little time I have to get all this done. Regardless, I wanted to preserve my list of companies, services, and schools I've applied to. Someday I will look back on this time and laugh. Hopefully.
